We had the pleasure of participating in Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts at Esplanade over the weekend on 24 and 25 Feb 2018. It's the Year of the Dog and what better way to celebrate than sharing our beloved stamp carving craft to over a hundred kids and their parents?
Lucky mascots of Chinese New Year were specially designed so each kid could pick one that they liked. We had a 50-50 between the dog and the fortune cat!
As an artist instructor, I relish each opportunity to perform my craft in front of new audiences. And entertaining the kids with my funny illustrations was the best bit. *Now let's give the dog a party hat!* :)
It was so fun to watch the children hold a carving tool in their little hands for the first time and see their faces light up at their first print. We hope everyone had fun!
